Where and How it all Started

Established in February of 2022, Birdy Johnson (CEO & Founder) birthed Crowns of Glory Studios out of a place of love and seeing the beauty for natural hair. The name was spiritually given to her where she felt every man and woman deserves a "crown" that exemplifies hair excellence.

Birdy's natural hair journey began in 2013 when she decided to do the "big chop" after years of having unhealthy, relaxed hair. It was a bold step, but she is glad the decision as she witnessed a change in growth. In 2017, Birdy became interested in Sisterlocks TM and reached out to a reputable loctician to "crown" her with her set of Sisterlocks TM. Since having her Sisterlocks TM in February of 2018, she has admired and been able to see the substantial growth.

After 20+ years of Nursing, she decided to take a leap of faith and become to full-time in the sisterlock/natural hair care industry. Crowns of Glory Studios all started out of the space of a welcoming, home environment and now has a physical location since in February 2023 in Gainesville, FL.

For CEO and Founder of COG studios, it is more than styling hair; it is about seeing the transformation, smile and confidence that it brings to her clients' faces. She is thankful for the interactions, environment, and team that has been able to be cultivated and excited to see what is yet to come for COG Studios.

Crowns of Glory aims to treat every individual and crown that enters our salon with royalty and excellence. We believe that every "crown” is unique and should receive the quality care/attention it deserves.

We also believe that every client that is serviced will not only see the value and beauty in their hair, but who they are created to be in Christ.
